Fall Season Over

After a brutal weekend, the Hawks finally take their first two losses this season to University of Maine and SUNY Plattsburgh. The Hawks place fourth in NSCRO Regionals, and are thus second best NSCRO Rugby in NY!! Thank you to all the individuals and families who have supported us and given us their all this season. We have been so lucky to come this far and owe it all to hard work, Coach James Fryer, and your support.

Much love,
The New Paltz Hawks

Heading For The Final!

A hard fought victory in the rain brings the New Paltz Hawks to 7 - 0, defeating SUNY Maritime 43 - 17.  Despite a hard effort from the Maritime forwards and relentless kicking by the Maritime fly-half, the New Paltz back line dominated the opposition.  The first career tries from Kevin Lovo and Anthony Repetto contributed to an impressive performance on the outside.  Nearly flawless kicking from Saidul Alam helped cement New Paltz's win, but it was a hard combined effort from all the Hawks that beat down a spirited Maritime defense.  Next up for the Hawks is the Tri-State NSCRO Final against Vassar College at Siena College.

Congratulations to Coach James Fryer

Alumni and Head Coach James Fryer led the New Paltz Rugby team to an undefeated record this season. Coach Fryer, former pack player for the New Paltz Hawks, took on responsibility for the Men's Rugby Team this 2016 Fall Season.

Using the ideas of conservatism and fearlessness on the rugby pitch, he has led his team to an undefeated 6-0 season in the Small College Tristate Conference (http://www.tristaterugby.com/). SUNY New Paltz was able to defeat their rivals, Vassar College for the first time in many seasons thanks to Coach Fryer.

Right now the Hawks are preparing for their playoff match against fourth seed SUNY Maritime. This Sunday October 30th behind Esopus Hall at SUNY New Paltz.
